Dr. Nicholas Bhusal, who has been on a hunger strike for the past nine days demanding the fulfillment of various issues, has been taken to Bir Hospital for treatment after his health condition worsened.
Bhusal had been staging his hunger strike at Maitighar Mandala in Kathmandu. A medical team from the Nepal Medical Association conducted a health check-up, and following the assessment, further treatment was deemed necessary. Based on the association’s initiative, a decision was made to shift him to the hospital, the association said.
Dr. Bhusal has been demanding action against those responsible for killings during the Gen Z movement, the release of individuals arrested during the protests, an investigation into corruption with punishment for those found guilty, and the provision of voting rights to Nepali citizens living abroad, among other demands.
