Nepal national cricket team suffered their second consecutive loss in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup, going down to Italy national cricket team by 10 wickets on Thursday.
Chasing Nepal’s modest target of 124 runs, Italy comfortably reached 124 without losing a wicket in just 12.4 overs. The victory was powered by an outstanding opening partnership between Justin Mosca and Anthony Mosca. Justin remained unbeaten on 60 off 44 balls with five fours and three sixes, while Anthony stayed not out on 62, hitting three fours and six sixes. Nepal’s bowlers failed to claim a single wicket.
Earlier at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai, Nepal—after losing the toss—were bowled out for 123 runs in 19.3 overs. Aarif Sheikh scored 27, Rohit Paudel made 23, and Aasif Sheikh added 20. Dipendra Singh Airee contributed 17, while Karan KC remained unbeaten on 18.
Among the others, Kushal Bhurtel scored 5, Lokesh Bam and Gulshan Jha made 3 runs each, and Nandan Yadav failed to open his account.
For Italy, Krishan Kalugamage took three wickets and Ben Manenti claimed two. Ali Hasan, JJ Smuts and Jaspreet Singh picked up one wicket each.
Nepal had earlier lost to England by four runs. With this defeat, Nepal remain without a point in the tournament.
