Nepal will face Oman on Wednesday evening in the Super Six stage of the ICC T20 World Cup Asia and East Asia-Pacific Qualifiers.
A victory in today’s match would secure Nepal’s qualification for the ICC T20 World Cup, to be held next year in India and Sri Lanka.
The high-stakes clash, scheduled for 8:45 PM (Nepal time), is not only about earning a World Cup berth but also about the battle for the top position in the Super Six standings.
Both Nepal and Oman are in strong positions, having topped their respective groups and won their first two Super Six matches.
Although Oman holds the historical edge — winning five of the eight T20 encounters between the two sides — Nepal’s recent form and improved team performance make them favorites for tonight’s match.
In the Super Six, Nepal defeated UAE by 1 run and Qatar by 5 runs in thrilling contests, while Oman also secured consecutive victories.
The ongoing tournament in Muscat, Oman, features nine nations divided into three groups, with the top two from each group advancing to the Super Six stage.
From the Super Six, the top three teams will qualify for the T20 World Cup 2026, jointly hosted by India and Sri Lanka in February–March.
