India secured their second win in the ongoing T20 series against South Africa with a convincing seven-wicket victory in last night’s match.
Chasing a modest target of 117 runs set by South Africa, India comfortably reached the target in 15.5 overs, losing just three wickets.
Abhishek Sharma top-scored for India with 35 runs, while Shubman Gill contributed 28 runs and Tilak Varma added 26.
Earlier, South Africa, after losing the toss and batting first, were bowled out for 117 runs in 20 overs. Captain Aiden Markram was the highest scorer for the hosts with 61 runs, while Donovan Ferreira scored 20.
India’s bowlers put in a disciplined performance, with Arshdeep Singh, Harshit Rana, Varun Chakravarthy, and Kuldeep Yadav each picking up two wickets.
With this victory, India now lead the five-match T20 series 2–1. The fourth match of the series is scheduled to be played on Wednesday in Lucknow.
