Indian border checkpoints in Saptari district will remain closed for three days in view of the House of Representatives by-election scheduled for Falgun 21.
According to the District Administration Office, Saptari, the border points with India will be closed from 12:00 midnight on Falgun 19 until the night of Falgun 21. The notice, signed by Chief District Officer Tuvraj Pokharel, states that the decision has been taken to ensure a free, fair, impartial, fearless, and peaceful election environment.
The administration said that all border points in Saptari connected to India will remain shut during this period.
However, vehicles providing essential services such as ambulances, telecommunications services, hearse vehicles, hospital services, electricity services, and other vehicles with special permission will be allowed to operate on Falgun 21. All other public and private vehicles will be prohibited from operating during the closure period, the District Administration Office stated.
