Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi has congratulated Balen Shah on his appointment as the Prime Minister of Nepal. Modi shared the message via Facebook on Friday afternoon.
“Heartfelt congratulations to Mr. Balen Shah on taking the oath as the Prime Minister of Nepal,” Modi wrote. “Your appointment reflects the trust the people of Nepal have placed in your leadership.”
Modi also expressed his eagerness to work closely with Shah to further strengthen Nepal–India relations. “I look forward to working closely with you to take the friendship and cooperation between India and Nepal to even greater heights for the mutual benefit of our people,” he added.
