Nepal’s Minister for Information and Communications Technology, Jagadish Kharel, has reiterated that the government formed as a result of the Gen-Z movement will not let the contributions of those injured and martyred during the protests go in vain. Remembering the events of Bhadra 23 and 24, Minister Kharel expressed the government’s firm commitment to uphold their sacrifices.
Speaking at a felicitation program organized by Kalinag Secondary School in Sunkhani, Kalinchok-8, on Sunday, the minister shared these remarks. The school is where Minister Kharel studied from grades 1 to 10. He stated that the current government is giving priority to good governance and reducing corruption.
Highlighting that the government is preparing for the upcoming election on Falgun 21, he urged all political parties and citizens to participate responsibly.
Minister Kharel acknowledged that although the government has accomplished many positive works, there are still areas needing improvement. He added that while he may not always deliver outstanding results, he will never engage in wrongdoing. He clarified that the government’s functioning has honored the contributions of the Gen-Z movement.
He emphasized that excessive power struggles and self-centered politics among political parties have significantly affected overall national development, including the education sector. He stressed the need to move forward with development and good governance as top priorities.
“The absence of a stable government has fueled unstable power competition among political parties, affecting everything from the education sector to overall development. It is now necessary for all parties to fulfill their national responsibilities by prioritizing stability, quality education, and good governance,” he said.
Minister Kharel highlighted the importance of national development, quality education, and modern improvements in technology. He also urged voters to select capable and responsible leaders as the elections approach.
He expressed his commitment to actively support improvement and development plans in education and technology in his birthplace. The minister stressed the need to upgrade the education system through modern technology, improve connectivity between rural and urban areas, and contribute to national development through stable governance.
During his visit to Dolakha, he stated that the trip sparked new enthusiasm for plans related to education, technology, and local development. Minister Kharel arrived in his home district on Sunday and participated in several programs.
Upon reaching Sunkhani in Kalinchok Rural Municipality-8, local residents welcomed him with traditional music and honors. After entering the district, he visited the Kalinag Temple in his birthplace and performed worship rituals.
According to his secretariat, Minister Kharel stayed overnight in Charikot and is scheduled to attend various meetings, discussions with office chiefs, and additional programs on Monday.
