The Investigation Commission formed to probe the incidents of Bhadra 23 and 24 has lifted the travel restrictions imposed on former Home Minister Ramesh Lekhak.
On Thursday, the commission’s secretariat informed, through the Ministry of Home Affairs, that the restrictions on Lekhak had been removed.
Earlier, a meeting of the commission held on Ashoj 12 had decided to bar Lekhak from foreign travel and prohibit him from leaving the Kathmandu Valley without the commission’s approval.
The commission recorded Lekhak’s statement on Monday. Following the completion of his testimony, the commission decided to lift the restrictions.
The commission is now preparing to record the statement of former Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli and is planning to send him an official letter for this purpose.
