In the Group B match of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup, Ireland national cricket team defeated the Oman national cricket team by 96 runs. With their third consecutive loss, Oman have been eliminated from the World Cup.
In the match held in Colombo on Saturday, Oman, chasing a challenging target of 236 runs for victory, were bowled out for 139 runs in 18 overs.
Earlier, after losing the toss and being invited to bat first, Ireland posted a big total of 235 runs for the loss of five wickets in their allotted 20 overs.
For Ireland, captain Lorcan Tucker scored an unbeaten 94, while Gareth Delany made 56 runs. With their first win in three matches, Ireland have two points and sit in fourth place.
Oman, with three losses, remain at the bottom without a point. At the top of the table, Sri Lanka national cricket team and Zimbabwe national cricket team have four points each from two matches, while Australia national cricket team are in third place with two points.
