The Nepali Congress has decided to appoint Ishwari Naupane as the Chairperson of the State Affairs and Good Governance Committee. The position became vacant after Chairperson Ramhari Khatiwada resigned.
Naupane, who had been serving as the Chairperson of the Parliamentary Hearing Committee, will step down from that role to take on this new responsibility. The decision was made during a meeting of the party’s top five leaders held at President Sher Bahadur Deuba’s residence in Budhanilkantha, where consensus was reached on Naupane’s candidacy.
The nomination for the committee chairperson is scheduled for today, while the voting will take place tomorrow. Other aspirants for the position included Dilendra Badu, Hridayaram Thani, Sarita Prasai, and Ambika Basnet.
