
Civil Service Day is being observed today across the country with various programs organized by government employees.
The day is marked on Bhadra 22 every year since 2061 B.S., commemorating the first issuance of the Civil Service Act on Bhadra 22, 2012 B.S.
As part of the celebration, civil servants held a morning rally from the Parliament building premises at Singha Durbar, which concluded at Nepal Police Club, Bhrikutimandap, where the main ceremony took place.
On the occasion, Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli honored employees for their outstanding performance over the past year. Ten employees received the Excellent Civil Service Award with a cash prize of Rs. 100,000 each, while thirty employees were awarded the Civil Service Award with Rs. 50,000 each.
In honor of Civil Service Day, a public holiday has been granted to civil servants today.
