Jagdamba Steel Pvt. Ltd., operating within the Parsa Industrial Corridor, has paid its outstanding premium electricity charges accrued during the load-shedding period for using dedicated and trunk power lines, the company confirmed on Wednesday.
After the payment of the first installment, the electricity line — which had been disconnected on October 20 (Kartik 4) — was reconnected on Wednesday evening. Jagdamba Steel is the industry with the highest outstanding dues, totaling NPR 1.60 billion (1.60 अरब 18 लाख रुपैयाँ).
The company cleared the first installment of NPR 57.2 million (5 करोड 72 लाख 9 हजार रुपैयाँ) out of the total dues, which have been divided into 28 installments. The payments cover the premium charges from January 2016 (Magh 2072) to April 2018 (Baisakh 2075) for the use of dedicated and trunk electricity lines.
