Senior journalist Dinesh Sitaula, who had gone to Achham for election campaigning with senior Rastriya Swatantra Party leader Balen Shah, is reported to be in critical condition.
He is currently undergoing treatment at Grande Hospital in Tokha, Kathmandu.
Forty-four-year-old Sitaula, a resident of Nuwakot and a film journalist by profession, suddenly lost consciousness on Wednesday morning and was airlifted to Kathmandu by an army helicopter.
Achham Chief District Officer Yagya Bahadur Budha told Makalu Khabar that initial observations suggested a possible heart attack, following which Sitaula was immediately flown to Kathmandu by army helicopter.
After learning about Sitaula’s health condition, Balen Shah cut short his Karnali Province visit from Surkhet and arrived in Kathmandu on Saturday.
Shah met Sitaula’s family at the hospital at around 12 noon on Saturday.
