Popular journalist Rajiv Khatri, well known on social media, has stepped into politics after leaving journalism. He formally joined the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) today, a few days after resigning from News 20 Television.
Khatri, who had long shown goodwill toward the RSP even while working as a journalist, decided to enter the party following two rounds of discussions with party chair Rabi Lamichhane while Lamichhane was in custody.
A large crowd gathered at the RSP office in Ghantaghar for his party entry program. Amid the presence of party supporters and media persons, RSP leaders welcomed Khatri into the party by presenting him with the party badge.
