Janata Samajwadi Party Nepal (JSP-N) Chairperson Upendra Yadav and the faction led by Janata Samajwadi Party co-chair Renuka Yadav have reached an agreement on party unification.
The leaders formally signed the unification agreement today. Earlier on Sunday, an agreement had also been reached between the Terai Madhes Loktantrik Party and Janata Samajwadi Party Nepal.
The unification has been agreed upon with a focus on the upcoming House of Representatives elections, aiming to protect and strengthen federalism and republicanism—key achievements of the Madhes Movement—and to ensure the rights of Madhes and Madhesi people.
According to Pradeep Yadav, a leader from the Renuka Yadav faction, the majority of central committee members will reunite under the original party led by Upendra Yadav.
He stated that, given the changing political landscape, unification between Janata Samajwadi Party Nepal and Janata Samajwadi Party had become inevitable, and the decision was taken by prioritizing the aspirations and expectations of the Madhesi people.
