All border points in Kanchanpur district connected to India will be closed to ensure a free, fair, and fear-free environment for the upcoming House of Representatives election.
According to Mohan Chandra Joshi, Assistant Chief District Officer at the District Administration Office, Kanchanpur, the border crossings will remain closed from 12:00 midnight on Falgun 18 (Monday) until 12:00 midnight on Falgun 21 (Thursday), targeting the House of Representatives Member Election scheduled for Falgun 21.
From 12:00 midnight on Falgun 20, all vehicles except those providing essential services will be restricted from operating until the completion of voting. Essential services include ambulances, traffic police, fire engines, telecommunications, hearse vehicles, hospital services, and electricity services. Vehicles belonging to diplomatic missions with CD number plates and other vehicles with special permission will also be allowed to operate.
The decision was made to ensure that the election is conducted in a peaceful, disciplined, and orderly manner in Kanchanpur.
