The Karnali Highway has reopened after being blocked for four days due to a landslide.
The road in Gagnekhola, Shubhakalika-1, Kalikot was blocked on Saturday when a landslide occurred. On Monday, the Nepal Army used blasting to break the rocks brought down by the landslide, allowing one-way traffic on Tuesday afternoon, according to Inspector Bir Bahadur Sunar of the Kalikot District Police Office.
Authorities have warned that continuous rainfall may still cause temporary blockages. With the road reopened, trucks carrying apples that were stranded for four days have resumed their journey toward Surkhet, and travel for passengers stranded along the highway has become easier.
