Nighttime businesses in Kathmandu have been restricted from operating after 9:00 PM starting Falgun 18.
The District Administration Office Kathmandu issued the notice in view of the upcoming House of Representatives election scheduled for Falgun 21. The restriction has been enforced considering election security sensitivity.
In a notice signed by the office’s spokesperson and Assistant Chief District Officer Muktiram Rijal, it is stated: “Considering election security, all nighttime businesses operating within Kathmandu district are permitted to operate only until 9:00 PM from Falgun 18 until further notice. All concerned stakeholders are informed to close their businesses after the specified time.”
With this decision, hotels, restaurants, and all other nighttime businesses operating within Kathmandu will be allowed to function only until 9:00 PM until another decision is made. The rule will come into effect from Falgun 18.
