Kathmandu Metropolitan City Mayor Balendra Shah (Balen) is set to attend the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) central committee meeting for the first time today.
The RSP central committee meeting is scheduled for 2 pm this afternoon. RSP spokesperson Manish Jha confirmed that Balen will be present at the meeting.
An agreement between RSP Chairperson Rabi Lamichhane and Balen was reached on Poush 13. Following this, Balen was appointed as a central committee member and given second seniority in the party. Despite his position, he had not yet entered the party office. “He is scheduled to arrive at the central office at 1 pm today ahead of the central committee meeting,” spokesperson Jha said.
After the central committee meeting, Chairperson Lamichhane and Balen are scheduled to travel to Janakpur today. Tomorrow, they will address a public gathering in Janakpur.
