Kathmandu Metropolitan City has urged teachers and school management committees to make necessary preparations for classroom teaching from Sunday.
According to Keshav Gyawali, Acting Head of the Education Department, the request has been made to reopen schools that were closed due to the recent situation in the country.
Through a notice, the metropolis has asked schools to assess any potential damage, establish contact with parents to understand the condition of students, and until the situation normalizes, arrange for students’ arrival and departure in coordination with guardians.
The Education Department has issued a four-point directive to all schools to verify damages, if any, caused by the events of Bhadra 23 and 24, and to prepare for resuming classes.
Furthermore, from Monday, Bhadra 30, schools have been requested to conduct in-person classes along with psychosocial counseling. For students unable to come and go with their parents, the city has advised running classes through audiovisual means.
