Chairman of the CPN-UML and former Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has stated that acts of arson and vandalism targeting public property fall under criminal activity and must be legally prosecuted.
While observing the damage and fires during the Jenji movement in Jhapa, Oli emphasized that the guilty must face action according to the law.
He said, “Setting fire to national and public property, municipal offices, or the homes and offices of political activists is a criminal act. Such crimes cannot be encouraged. We must prevent crime and build a peaceful, livable country.”
Oli also criticized the current interim government, stating that it is attempting to shield criminals, which has resulted in a lack of proper action.
During this visit, Oli filed his nomination from Jhapa for the upcoming House of Representatives election. The CPN-UML had started election preparations from Bhadra 5.
