CPN-UML Chairman KP Sharma Oli has made it clear that he will not leave the country despite rumors and intimidation. Speaking at a press conference held at his residence in Bhaktapur on Saturday, Oli accused the government of spreading various kinds of misinformation, including rumors about stopping his passport. He firmly stated that he would not hand the nation over to what he called a “chaotic government” and flee abroad.
Oli emphasized that the country must be built collectively by all Nepalis and pledged to bring Nepal back to a constitutional and democratic path. He vowed to restore good governance, peace, and order in the country.
Expressing concern over threats to attack his new residence by disclosing its location, Oli questioned whether the government was fulfilling its duty to ensure security. He criticized the government for attempting to intimidate opponents by talking about filing cases and blocking passports, asking whether those in power understand their responsibility to provide protection to citizens.
