CPN (UML) Chairman and former Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has said that the current government is unconstitutional. Speaking at a meet-and-greet and tea reception program organized at the party’s central office in Chyasal on Saturday, Oli said that a constitutionally elected parliament and government formed through legal procedures were overthrown to form an unconstitutional government. He claimed that the current government was formed not through a revolution but through a counter-revolution. He said, “This is an unconstitutional government. Under which constitution was it formed? This is regression and it must be corrected. The House of Representatives must be restored immediately.”
Oli said that peace and stability are the current needs of the country but accused the government of standing against them. He said that while terror is spreading across the country, instead of controlling it, the government is getting angry at those who speak in favor of peace.
Expressing anger over recent vandalism, arson, and looting of public and private property, he said such instability is unacceptable. He said, “Maybe the government got angry because we said you should not loot and steal. Maybe it got angry because we said you should not burn things. Maybe it got angry because we talked about peace. Even if the government or anyone gets angry, I want to say that CPN-UML exists in this country. We will fight and make Nepal a peaceful and stable nation.”
He said the current government is just a bubble. He said that one percent of Nepal’s population is about 300,000 people, yet even one percent of people do not support this government. He said, “This is a temporary government without a fixed term.”
Calling the government a structure without foundation, Oli claimed it could collapse at any moment. He said some people reached power by blaming innocent Gen Z youths. He said, “Gen Z youth can never set fire to Singha Durbar wrapped in the national flag.”
He also advised those in the government to check their astrological positions. He said, “You never know when you might suddenly collapse—better check your planetary positions.”
