CPN-UML Chairperson KP Sharma Oli has said that his party is preparing an election manifesto focused on practical programs capable of delivering tangible achievements within five years.
Speaking on Thursday at the party’s central office in Chyasal while seeking suggestions from experts of various fields, Oli said the manifesto is being drafted by prioritizing public needs and practical considerations. He claimed that UML would fulfill the Nepali people’s aspiration for a “prosperous and happy” life through national development, good governance, and sustainable growth.
During the discussion, Oli stressed that the government must pay special attention to ensuring that the upcoming election is free, fair, and free from fraud. He stated that UML is the country’s most popular and strong party and added that his party would take the lead in rebuilding the damage caused to nationalism and the constitution by political developments in last Bhadra.
Emphasizing that the protection of national sovereignty and dignity cannot be achieved through compromise alone, Oli made it clear that resistance and defense would be adopted where necessary. Experts present at the program also suggested that the manifesto should be directly beneficial to the people.
The UML has formed a seven-member manifesto drafting committee under the coordination of Chairperson Oli himself. The committee members include Ram Bahadur Thapa, Bishnu Poudel, Shankar Pokhrel, Ishwar Pokhrel, Pradeep Gyawali, and Bishnu Rimal.
