CPN-UML Chair KP Sharma Oli is scheduled to meet party workers from the southern areas of Jhapa constituency No. 5 today. According to district party secretary Tulsi Karki, the interaction program will be held at the assembly hall of the model agricultural farm in Gauradaha Municipality–5, Schoolchaun.
Oli will hold separate meetings with ward committees from eight wards of Gauradaha Municipality and six wards of Gaurigunj Rural Municipality. During the meetings, ward-level office bearers and members will brief the party chair on voters’ sentiments, the state of local development, and party organizational matters.
Oli is also expected to address workers’ concerns and share views on party policies, national priorities, and his contributions to Jhapa-5. In addition, he will inspect structures that were damaged by arson and vandalism carried out in the name of the Gen-Z movement on Bhadau 24. During the unrest, buildings including the Gauradaha municipal office and ward offices of wards 1, 2, and 7, as well as the residences of Chief Minister Hikmat Karki, Mayor Chhatrapati Subedi, Deputy Mayor Jalbarsha Rajbanshi, among others, were set on fire.
Karki informed that Oli has already held separate discussions with ward committees of Damak Municipality and Kamal Rural Municipality, and arrangements have now been made for individual meetings with ward committees across the constituency.
