Baglung, Aug 5: A landslide at Tarakhase in Kathekhola Rural Municipality–6 has blocked the Mid-Hill Highway, a national pride project, since last night. As a result, both long- and short-distance vehicular movement has come to a halt.
According to Inspector Keshav Thapa of the Baglung District Police Office, the landslide, which included mud and debris, has disrupted transportation from western Baglung, Rolpa, Rukum, Jajarkot, Dolpa, and Gulmi toward Pokhara, Kathmandu, and other destinations.
“We received a call last night after the landslide blocked the road,” said Inspector Thapa. “A police team was immediately dispatched, but the road could not be cleared. Efforts are ongoing in coordination with the highway office to remove the debris. It may still take some time to fully resume transportation.”
