Efforts to clear the landslide at Tuiun Khola along the Muglin–Narayangadh road section are moving ahead at high speed. According to the Road Division Office, one excavator and one loader have been deployed from the Narayangadh side, while two loaders, one excavator, and one backhoe loader are operating from the Muglin side. However, due to the narrow working area, only five pieces of heavy equipment can be used at a time.
Despite difficulties caused by large boulders on the Narayangadh side, the equipment is operating at full capacity. So far, about 60 percent of the landslide debris has been cleared.
Progress has been slower than expected because of the large quantity of rocks, frequent tire punctures from sharp stones, and risks of operator injuries. To speed up the work, two additional operators have been dispatched from the Heavy Equipment Divisions in Hetauda and Dumre.
If no further obstructions occur, authorities estimate that the landslide will be completely cleared and traffic fully restored by tonight.
