Continuous rainfall since Tuesday night has triggered landslides, blocking two key road sections in Lamjung district — the Lamjung–Pokhara section of the Mid-Hill Highway and the Besisahar–Chame road.
According to the District Police Office Lamjung, a massive landslide at Bimire Bhanjyang in Madhya Nepal Municipality-9 has obstructed the Mid-Hill Highway. The same road, which was cleared on Tuesday after being blocked on Monday, was re-closed on Wednesday due to another landslide. Locals reported that the mud and rocks are so extensive that even foot movement is impossible, while ongoing mudslides have completely halted traffic. Vehicles traveling between Lamjung and Pokhara have been stranded.
Similarly, a landslide at Banker in Marsyangdi Rural Municipality-4 has blocked the Besisahar–Chame road since early Wednesday morning, disrupting transportation to and from Manang. Police said heavy and continuous rainfall is making road clearance difficult.
District Police Office spokesperson, Inspector Raj Kumar Shah Teli, said efforts are underway to clear the debris. Coordination with the Dumre–Besisahar–Chame Road Project and the Mid-Hill Highway Project is ongoing to reopen the blocked routes.
