Meanwhile, Chelsea earned a hard-fought win over Tottenham Hotspur, thanks to a decisive goal from João Pedro.
With the victories, Liverpool sit third in the table with 18 points from 10 matches, while Chelsea move up to fifth with 17 points from the same number of games.
In other Saturday fixtures, Arsenal, Brighton, and Crystal Palace also registered wins, while Manchester United and Nottingham Forest settled for a draw.
