Chairman of the CPN (Unified Socialist), Madhav Kumar Nepal, has suggested that the government move ahead by taking all political parties and leaders into confidence. Speaking to the media after attending a Deusi-Bhailo program in Kathmandu on Tuesday, he expressed his party’s commitment to support the government in ensuring free, fair, and dignified elections as announced.
Chairman Nepal emphasized that federalism could be further refined and strengthened through constitutional amendments, but said this would require broad political dialogue. He urged the government not to discriminate among political parties and leaders, and noted that the youth were compelled to take to the streets due to past governments’ failure to maintain good governance and control corruption, which ultimately led to tragic incidents.
He demanded a thorough investigation into the infiltration during the Gen-Z movement and strict action against the guilty. He also condemned the use of live bullets during the protests and called for an impartial investigation into the matter. Nepal stressed that no one should be allowed to engage in activities that undermine the constitution or the republic.
