The Madhesh Province government has decided to grant an additional public holiday on the occasion of the Chhath festival.
The Ministry of Home Affairs, Communication and Law of the provincial government issued a notice today, announcing that a public holiday will also be observed on Tuesday, November 26 (Kartik 11), the day of offering prayers to the rising sun.
Amid increasing public demand for a two-day holiday during the Chhath festival—covering both the setting and rising sun rituals—the provincial government has partially addressed the request by declaring this additional public holiday.
With this decision, all government offices, schools, and public institutions across the province will remain closed on Tuesday.
