Heavy rainfall in various parts of the country has caused floods and landslides, blocking five major highways.
According to the Nepal Police Headquarters, landslides have completely obstructed the Koshi Highway at Varun, Bhotkhola Rural Municipality-4, and at Ekuwa, Makalu Rural Municipality-3, both in Sankhuwasabha.
Additionally, central police spokesperson and Deputy Inspector General Vinod Ghimire reported that the Mitere Bridge connecting Nepal and China on the Pasang Lhamu Highway in Gosaikunda Rural Municipality-2, Rasuwa; the Mugling-Narayanghat road section in Ichchhakamana Rural Municipality-5, Chitwan; and the Mid-Hill Highway in Bhume Rural Municipality-4, Eastern Rukum, are all completely blocked.
