
A man was killed in a tiger attack in Jitpur Simara Sub-Metropolitan City-22, Bara district. The victim has been identified as Krishna Prasad Sharma, a resident of the 2 No. Bridge area.
According to Vijay Raj Pandit, spokesperson at the Bara District Police Office, Sharma had gone to the Aadhabhar forest on Wednesday morning around 7:30 am on a scooter to collect fodder but did not return home. Later in the evening, during a search by family members, security forces, and locals, his body was found with clear signs of a tiger attack. His head was missing when the body was discovered. The incident site lies within the Parsa National Park area.
Police said further investigation is underway. Just a few days ago, another local was also killed in a tiger attack in the same region.
Following the latest fatality, Member of Parliament Krishna Kumar Shrestha, Jitpur Simara Mayor Rajan Paudel, Ward Chairman Subash Shrestha, and Shekharkaji Rumba visited the incident site. They have warned of launching protests if immediate steps are not taken to control tiger attacks in the area.
