A tragic incident has occurred in Kailali District, where a man allegedly killed his wife before attempting to take his own life.
The incident took place in Godawari Municipality–4, Amleshaini village. According to police, 31-year-old Rambhadur Magar shot and killed his 28-year-old wife Sanjita Magar while they were grazing goats in a nearby forest.
Acting chief of the District Police Office Kailali, DSP Yogendra Timilsina, said that preliminary investigations indicate a domestic dispute led to the incident. The man used a locally made firearm (bharuwa gun) to shoot his wife.
After killing his wife, he turned the gun on himself, leaving him seriously injured. He is currently undergoing treatment at Seti Provincial Hospital.
Police have stated that further investigation is ongoing to determine more details surrounding the case.
