The CPN (Maoist Centre) has decided to resume its Mid-Hill Pushpalal Highway Awareness Campaign.
According to party General Secretary Dev Gurung, the campaign will begin from Lamjung on September 7 (Bhadra 22) as per the decision of the recently held Standing Committee meeting. He informed that the campaign schedule has already been finalized.
As per the plan, Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal Prachanda and his team will stay overnight in Lamjung on September 6. On September 7, a program will be organized in the Lamjung section, followed by an overnight stay in Gorkha. On September 8, the team will hold a program in Gorkha and then move to Dhading for the night. Similarly, on September 9, events will be held in Dhading before heading to Nuwakot in the evening. On September 10, the campaign will focus on Nuwakot, after which the team will return to Kathmandu.
Gurung added that programs for the remaining districts will be finalized later. The campaign will feature public dialogues in each district, alongside internal organizational and training sessions. The party has directed that public events should ensure inclusive participation from all sides.
The campaign will be led by Prachanda, along with Senior Vice-Chairman Narayan Kaji Shrestha, the party’s Vice-Chairpersons, and the General Secretary.
The Maoist Centre had earlier launched the Tarai-Madhesh Awareness Campaign before shifting focus to the Mid-Hill Highway. The party had temporarily paused the campaign due to the monsoon but is now resuming it, concluding that it has helped increase public attraction towards the party.
