Senior Vice-Chair of the CPN Maoist Centre, Narayan Kaji Shrestha, has stated that those who burn institutions like Singha Durbar cannot be forgiven.
While overseeing the cleaning of the party office, he said that it was not just the party office that was targeted—Singha Durbar, a symbol of the nation, was also set on fire—and such individuals must not be spared under any circumstances.
He said, “Everything was destroyed in the fire, and some items were looted. Many things were broken and some were taken. It’s not just the party office; those who burn institutions like Singha Durbar, a national symbol, cannot be forgiven under any circumstances.”
Shrestha also emphasized that the Maoist party would now move forward in alignment with the Genji movement to consolidate the achievements of the uprising.
He stated, “Now, we will pursue the goals we had set by transforming and reorganizing our party. Working in coordination with the Genji movement, we will advance to ensure the successes of that movement. We have the potential, and we will rise as we need to.”
