
A large peace rally was organized this morning on the occasion of Constitution Day.
The rally started from Maitighar, Kathmandu, and passed through Bhadrakali, Shahid Gate, Tripureshwor, and Thapathali, returning to Maitighar where it culminated in a gathering.
The event, organized by the Professional Network for Peace and Democracy (PAPAD), saw participation from citizens of various professions, including constitutional experts, journalists, lawyers, human rights activists, teachers, and intellectuals. Participants carried placards with messages such as “Protect the Constitution,” “Establish Good Governance,” and “Promote Peace.”
Constitution Day is observed to commemorate the promulgation of Nepal’s Constitution on Ashwin 3, 2072 BS. Rally participants emphasized the need for timely amendments and improvements to the Constitution.
Meanwhile, the main Constitution Day program is being held at the Army Pavilion, Tundikhel, in the presence of President Ramchandra Paudel.
