Medical entrepreneur Durga Prasai has apologized to Prime Minister Sushila Karki. During a meeting at the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers on Monday, where he arrived to discuss his demands with the government, Prasai expressed regret for his past remarks.
“I am sorry for what I said. I apologize,” Prasai stated. He also presented Prime Minister Karki with a statue of Goddess Durga and suggested that she work by embodying the qualities of the goddess.
“You are a mother, you are Durga. Please work by adopting that form,” a participant quoted Prasai as telling the Prime Minister. During the meeting, he also gifted her a statue of Buddha.
Prasai, who is the patron of the Nagarik Bachau Dal and coordinator of the Nation, Nationality, Religion, Culture and Citizens’ Protection Campaign, held discussions with Prime Minister Karki and Home Minister Aryal on the major points of his 27-point list of demands.
It is reported that Prasai urged the government to fully implement the demands that his group has been raising since Mangsir 6.
