The scheduled meeting between President Ramchandra Paudel, the Prime Minister, and representatives of the GenZ movement has been postponed to Monday. Although the discussion was initially planned for Saturday, it was rescheduled due to the President’s health condition.
Earlier on Saturday, some GenZ youths had already arrived at Shital Niwas for the planned meeting. However, other members of the movement protested outside the President’s Office, expressing dissatisfaction over what they described as a selective invitation process.
The protesting youths demanded to see the list of participants entering the venue and accused the authorities of engaging only with individuals close to them. They stated that the government-selected list for the discussion did not represent all factions of the movement.
They alleged that only those GenZ youths favored by the government were being included in the talks, calling the move undemocratic and biased.
For Monday’s discussion, a list of 20 GenZ representatives, including Suden Gurung, Miraj Dhungana, and Pravesh Dahal, has been recommended to meet with President Paudel.
