According to the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology, the monsoon trough is currently positioned near its average location, resulting in generally cloudy conditions across the country. The department forecasts partly to generally cloudy skies throughout the day today.
Moderate rainfall is likely in some hilly areas and isolated parts of the Tarai region. In addition, heavy rainfall is expected at one or two locations in Koshi Province, the hilly regions of Gandaki, Lumbini, and Sudurpaschim Provinces, and parts of the Tarai.
For tonight, moderate rain is expected in some areas of Koshi, Madhesh, Bagmati, Gandaki, Lumbini, and Sudurpaschim Provinces, while light to moderate rainfall is likely in isolated areas of Karnali Province. The department has also indicated the possibility of heavy rain at one or two places in Koshi, Gandaki, Lumbini, and Sudurpaschim Provinces.
