According to the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology, the monsoon trough is currently positioned near its average location, resulting in generally cloudy conditions across the country.
Light rain is occurring in some areas of Bagmati and Gandaki provinces, as well as at a few places in Koshi, Lumbini, Karnali, and Sudurpaschim provinces. During the day, skies will remain mostly cloudy nationwide, with chances of moderate rainfall in parts of Gandaki, Lumbini, Karnali, and Sudurpaschim provinces, and at a few hilly and Terai areas of other provinces. Heavy rainfall is also possible at one or two places in Karnali and Sudurpaschim provinces.
Tonight, generally cloudy conditions are expected throughout the country. Moderate rain is likely in some hilly areas of Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, and Sudurpaschim provinces, and at a few hilly and Terai locations elsewhere. Heavy rain is also possible at one or two places in the hilly areas of Gandaki and Sudurpaschim provinces.
The department has urged the public to exercise caution, particularly in hilly areas of Gandaki, Karnali, and Sudurpaschim provinces, where heavy rainfall may occur.
