The monsoon trough is currently positioned south of its average location in the east and near the normal position in the west, according to the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology.
For this afternoon, the forecast indicates generally cloudy conditions in the hilly regions and partly cloudy skies in the rest of the country. There is a possibility of moderate rainfall in some areas of Koshi and Sudurpashchim provinces, as well as in parts of the hilly regions and isolated places of the Terai.
Tonight, the weather is expected to remain generally cloudy in the hills and partly cloudy elsewhere. Moderate rain is likely in some areas of Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces, along with isolated spots in other regions, the Department stated.
