
The Department of Hydrology and Meteorology has reported that the monsoon trough is currently situated south of its average position, resulting in relatively weak monsoon conditions over Nepal. However, moist air from the Bay of Bengal continues to enter the country, according to the department’s latest bulletin.
On Monday, the weather remained generally cloudy across the country. Moderate rainfall was recorded in some parts of Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, and Lumbini provinces, while light rain occurred in a few hilly areas of Karnali Province.
Similarly, the department forecasts generally cloudy skies across the country tonight. There is a possibility of moderate rainfall at a few places in the Tarai and hilly regions of Bagmati, Gandaki, and Lumbini provinces, as well as in some other hilly regions of the country. A few places in the remaining Tarai areas may also experience rainfall.
Heavy rainfall is likely in some Tarai areas of Lumbini Province and in a few hilly areas of Koshi and Bagmati provinces.
