
The Meteorological Forecasting Division has reported that the monsoon trough is currently positioned south of its average location, indicating a slight weakening of the monsoon system. However, moisture-laden winds from the Bay of Bengal continue to enter Nepal.
For this afternoon, generally cloudy conditions are expected in Lumbini, Karnali, Sudurpaschim, and hilly regions of the country, while the rest of Nepal will experience partly cloudy skies. Moderate rainfall is likely at a few places in Lumbini, Karnali, Sudurpaschim, and some Tarai areas.
Tonight, generally cloudy weather is expected in Koshi, Madhes, Bagmati, Gandaki, and hilly regions, with partly cloudy skies elsewhere. Moderate rainfall is likely in parts of Madhes, Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, and hilly as well as Tarai regions. Heavy rainfall is also possible at one or two places in the hilly areas of Koshi and Gandaki provinces.
The Division has warned of potential landslides and debris flows in hilly areas due to rainfall, along with rising water levels in rivers and streams. It has also projected possible disruptions to transportation and has urged the public to remain alert and take necessary precautions.
