The Muglin–Narayanghat section of the highway has been blocked once again after a massive dry landslide struck near Tuiun Khola in Ichchhakamana Rural Municipality–5, Chitwan, at around 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
Earlier in the afternoon around 1 p.m., the road had been partially reopened for one-way traffic after clearing a previous slide. However, another landslide around 9 p.m. again forced a complete shutdown.
According to the Bharatpur Road Division, the continuous sliding of dry debris has prevented the immediate use of machinery to clear the site. Tuiun Khola has recently become a “hotspot” for frequent landslides, with disruptions ongoing since last Friday evening.
Thousands of vehicles and passengers traveling in and out of Kathmandu have been affected by the repeated blockages, causing major inconvenience just as the busy Dashain festival approaches.
