The Narayangadh–Muglin road section has been fully reopened for two-way traffic since late Thursday night after repeated landslides caused a total of 105 hours of blockage over the past week. According to Narayan Lamichhane, chief of the Chitwan Division Road Office, traffic resumed at 11:35 p.m. on Thursday after clearing the debris at Tuiun Khola, where frequent landslides had disrupted movement since last Friday. He confirmed that there is currently no immediate threat of major landslides.
Lamichhane stated that minor slides can now be cleared quickly and that the road appears safe for travel. Loose rocks that had been stuck in the Namshi area have already fallen, further reducing the risk. However, he cautioned travelers to remain careful, as mudslides may occur during rainfall and dry slides may happen during sunny conditions.
Chief District Officer Ganesh Aryal reported that all stranded vehicles were dispatched to their destinations overnight. Despite the large scale of the landslides, continuous efforts allowed the road to reopen sooner than expected, and all routes through Chitwan are now operational.
