A meeting of the National Security Council is currently underway at Singha Durbar under the leadership of Prime Minister Sushila Karki, a senior official from the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers told RatoPati.
The meeting includes key officials such as Home Minister Omprakash Aryal, Chief Secretary Sumanraj Aryal, Chief of Army Staff Ashokraj Sigdel, and Finance Minister Rameshwar Prasad Khanal.
The council is set to discuss security arrangements for the upcoming House of Representatives elections on Falgun 21. The deliberations will focus on potential security challenges arising from the cold weather in high Himalayan regions and the Holi festival occurring two days before the election in the Terai.
