Netra Bikram Chand ‘Biplav’, General Secretary of the Nepal Communist Party (Maoist), has announced that he will not be contesting the upcoming elections.
Although he was earlier expected to contest from Rolpa, the Maoist faction led by spokesperson Prakanda will now represent the party in the elections.
Biplav issued a statement on Tuesday clarifying that his group will participate in the electoral process under the leadership of Maoist Prakanda.
This marks the first time the Biplav faction has registered with the Election Commission and entered the election arena.
