The Nepal Communist Party and the Chure Bhawar Party have officially completed a party unification. At a program held in Parisdanda, the unification agreement was signed by Nepal Communist Party Coordinator Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ and Chure Bhawar Party Chairperson Badri Prasad Neupane.
Addressing the unification program, Coordinator Prachanda said that unity is essential to institutionalize political change and move the country toward socialism. He emphasized the need to further strengthen and unite the communist movement to end injustice, discrimination, and exploitation prevailing in the country. He added that the unification would play a significant role in building an alternative political force while safeguarding people’s rights and national sovereignty.
Following the unification, Chure Bhawar Party Chairperson Badri Prasad Neupane stated that the issues of the people of the Chure–Bhawar region would now be raised more strongly in the national political mainstream. He said that joint struggles would be carried forward by prioritizing environmental conservation, landless issues, squatters, and the concerns of marginalized communities. He also expressed confidence that unity with the communist movement would take his political journey to a new height.
With the unification, the Chure Bhawar Party has been merged into the Nepal Communist Party. Both sides have agreed on a common political program, organizational expansion, and strengthening people’s movements. Party leaders said the unification has created a new political realignment in the country’s contemporary political landscape.
