Nepal will play their final match of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup against Scotland today. The match will be held at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai and will begin at 7:15 PM Nepali time.
As England and West Indies have already secured the top two spots from Group C to qualify for the Super 8 stage, today’s match is only a formality in terms of qualification.
However, both teams will be eager to finish the tournament on a winning note. Nepal narrowly lost their opening match against England by four runs. In their second match, Nepal were defeated by debutants Italy, followed by a nine-wicket loss to West Indies in their third game.
Despite consecutive defeats, the team led by captain Rohit Paudel is determined to secure a win in the final match and send a positive message. Nepal will also be aiming for their first World Cup victory in 12 years.
Scotland began their campaign with a 35-run loss to West Indies but made a strong comeback by defeating Italy by 73 runs. However, they suffered a five-wicket defeat against England in their most recent match. Scotland’s playoff hopes ended after England defeated Italy in Monday’s match.
So far, Nepal and Scotland have faced each other twice in T20 Internationals, with both teams winning one match each.
